Smells Like Yukon seeks new Media & Public Relations Officer

WHITEHORSE (SLYwire) Smells Like Yukon is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Media & Public Relations Officer. The search follows the sudden departure of its former Media & Public Relations Officer, who was fired as a result of his involvement in an online advertising scandal.

"After an exhaustive investigation, which required watching the last six episodes of season five of The Wire, we determined that our former Media & Public Relations Officer had been attempting to rig the Smells Like Yukon Flog to ensure that Google Adsense served high-paying ads for pornographic websites," says Smells Like Yukon security chief J.D. Sparkles. "Furthermore, by substituting his own Adsense code for ours, he was attempting to skim the considerable profits. Smells Like Yukon is, of course, opposed to skimming, especially when it appears in pornographic films... whatever that means."

Although these allegations remain unproven, Smells Like Yukon also suspects that its former Media & Public Relations Officer may have been involved in a related conspiracy to increase Flog traffic, and therefore advertising revenue, by creating the appearance of a feud within the Urban Yukon blogging community.

"This sort of yellow journalism is not what Smells Like Yukon is all about," says Sparkles. "And neither is purple prose."

After the firing, Smells Like Yukon discovered that its former Media & Public Relations Officer had secretly been removing posts from the Flog. He has also made off with other materials from the Smells Like Yukon offices, including a Rolodex and some of Mark Koepke's personal belongings.

Smells Like Yukon is currently conducting an audit of the Flog to determine exactly what's missing, and to re-evaluate the remaining content in light of the recent revelations, the subsequent firing, and the revelations that occured subsequent to the recent firing.

"We're looking for someone to fill this position immediately," says Smells Like Yukon HR director director J.D. Sparkles. "The successful candidate can look forward to helping us clean up this mess."
