The Great Big Poll

First of all, a big round of applause for the organizers and volunteers of the 2007 Canada Winter Games.

In all seriousness (seriously), they have done a remarkable job on this event, including booking a popular Canadian band to play the volunteer party. Great Big Sea is guaranteed to appeal to most of the partygoers and a lot of jealous Yukoners who won’t be able to get tickets. But, yes, there’s always a “but”—and this one’s the butt of a SLY.com Online Poll.

Naturally, not everyone’s thrilled about Great Big Sea. In fact, a few members of Team Yukon Northstay may have yet another reason to pat themselves on their suntanned backs for getting out of town. Other Yukoners, not so lucky, remain to witness what, for them, will always be remembered as a day of infamy. (In the interests of full disclosure, it should be noted that among SLYers, the only sports more popular than slagging GBS are mountain biking and ultimate frisbee.)

And yet, where the scales finally settle on the debatable goodness or badness of Great Big Sea is not for a couple of yokels to decide. It’s up to SLY.com’s Great Big Poll—and you.
